Love is alive, and like everything alive it must be taken care of, it must be nourished and nurtured. Love often dies… and becomes that limp hand that can no longer clutch or caress. Why? Because we settle? because we take it for granted, disillusioned by the myth of the unconditional and the security of legal signatures? Nothing of this world is unconditional – this ideology has allowed people to take the life out of so many things. Only dead things are unconditional. The point of love, what makes it so sharp, is exactly its condition! We must make love, we must sustain love. And our assurance comes from knowing that there is a mutual understanding of what it means to love. “I promise to love you”… more powerful words, truly spoken, there are none.

God’s Love towards us is unconditionnel…human love is always conditionel … It is a mystery to me how can God love me if I don’t care about Him!
